Court eases up in pit bull case
Maryland’s highest court on Tuesday partly backed off its April decision that pit bulls are inherently dangerous,
admitting that it went too far when it applied its standard to
crossbred dogs. But the new ruling, which affects only purebred animals,
does not clear the waters, according to experts.

After many years of negotiation and debate, the ABA House of Delegates approved a resolution Monday calling for
breed-neutral dangerous dog laws that focus on behavior rather than breed.

Estonia To Change Law On Religious Slaughter
Estonia will change its law on religious slaughter, government officials have said.
The change is necessary because religious slaughter “does not take new scientific knowledge into account,” the head of Estonia's Animal Welfare Bureau, Sirje Jalakas, told JTA.
