Man with service snake lobbies against WA bill

A man from Shelton who uses a snake as a service animal traveled to Olympia on Tuesday to lobby against a bill that would narrow the definition of an aid animal. Read more in this Associated Press report...

This is a fascinating case and it will be interesting to see what happens with it. The concept of what constitutes a service animal will probably have to broaden as people increasingly recognize that service animals can help not just with physical disabilities (e.g., seeing eye dogs), but also with psychological and emotional disabilities as well (e.g., PTSD).

I think I can truly say that I've never heard of a service snake. If it's helping the though, and the snake has improved his life, I can't say that I blame him.
