Humane Society of the United States has peculiar bedfellow

Sorry for the gap in postings this past week... had a case that was supposed to go to trial yesterday but that's a whole other story.

Anywho, here's a thoughtful little editorial by Eric Sharp of the Detroit Free Press about HSUS's rather unlikely spokesperson...

"It’s hard to imagine a more lefty proposition than advocating legal rights for the animals we eat or banning hunting and fishing. That kind of thinking makes gay rights supporters look like hardcore conservatives."

I have always thought this myself. Meat-eating is extremely conservative.

But I'm confused. I have heard of HSUS opposing the advocacy of veganism. How is it, then, that this article claims HSUS is an animal rights organization that advocates the abolition of animal farming and exploitation altogether? Sounds bogus to me.

Wow. I may just back off on my criticism of Limbaugh.
